Why freestanding earns its place

A freestanding vanity carries its own weight on adjustable feet rather than depending on what is inside your wall, it forgives a floor that has settled over decades, and a toe kick conceals the plumbing wherever the rough-in happens to land. If you are replacing a vanity rather than rebuilding a bathroom, this is almost always the category that will give you a beautiful result with the least disruption to your week.

Finished, or specified to your own design

A large part of this range is offered two ways. Finished vanities arrive with the countertop and sink already fitted and ready to install. Cabinet-only bases let you pair the casework with a stone top of your own choosing, which is how most designers and builders work when they are matching an existing slab or holding a palette across several rooms. Countertop choices include Carrara White and Pure White quartz, sintered stone, ceramic and reinforced acrylic solid surface, each supplied with a matching backsplash.

Considered construction

On our shaker lines, door and drawer faces are solid birch with MDF center panels, mounted on a high-grade plywood box, with dovetail drawer construction, concealed six-way adjustable hinges and under-mounted soft-close slides. Other lines in the collection are built in MDF or PVC casework, finished for the humidity a bathroom actually delivers. Each listing states which, because a client who knows what they are buying is a client who stays happy with it years later.

Getting the fit right

Widths band from 24 inches through 84 and over, with depths to 22 inches, and sink layouts stated plainly on every listing: single centered, single offset left or right, double, or cabinet only. Offset sinks are quietly brilliant in a narrow bathroom, freeing a continuous run of usable counter on one side. Before ordering, confirm three things: the finished wall-to-wall opening, the faucet drilling on the top you are buying, and the drain rough-in height against the cabinet's back panel.
